Ya... yarn

Finally.  I located a yarn shop where I could buy some yarn.  Atleast a few colours.  Else, I had to be content watching yummy yarn that my blog friends showed off on their blogs. Hardly any place where one can find yarn shops here :( Stylecraft, dk etc is a far cry.  Mummy had given me her stash last year which got depleted .  Gave me soooo much of happiness using it up on small projects. Learning to crochet.  And whenever I saw beautiful Ta ...dah...s of my blog friends, I would think.... next time I go on vacation, I must build on a stock.  Here's my find.  The colours are much prettier.  But this is the best pic I could manage.

And I am going to learn from Sangeetha of Crochetkari      how to wind the yarn.  I have sent her a request :)  Talking about yarn, I must share this blog post by Nitya Kalyani She talks about various types of yarn.

Thank you Crochet Kumari, my newest follower.  I am neither able to send you a message nor reach your blog :) Do leave me a link when you read next.

Today, I was so excited about this yarn find.  In the excitement of putting up this news, the mid night oil has burnt tooooo long.... Sleepy.... Off to bed.

  1. Hi, Aishwarya! I so very well understand you! I also just look at all those varieties of the yarn in other blogs, and next day go to our market and buy what is available.I liked the yarn you bought. Is it Vardhman?Oswal? I purchased something like this last weekend, it's called Brilon. I quite like it, it's soft and color range is satisfying too. So don't get upset, and enjoy whatever we have in our hands! :)
    Have a great day! Hugs,
    Anna.

    1. Hi Anna

Its neither Vardhaman nor Oswal. Its a yarn without a brand name. However, it is smooth, 4 ply. Ya I don't complain. Happy, atleast I have a stash now to play

    2. Haha, this is another specialty of Indian yarn market - no labels and markings on yarn :))it makes crocheting more intriguing, as you never how yarn behaves itself:)i'm kidding of course.I was purchasing acrylic yarn which was pretty good while working with it:)
I started my blanket, perhaps will post some update soon :)

  2. Hi dear, Lovely colours. Glad you found a local yarn store. You have a good memory, yes I did say there is a secret to my yarn winding! But I am so sorry dear, it may not help you. It is actually a mechanical yarn winder handmade by my brother based on a Youtube video. The yarn winders abroad are so expensive I told him to make me one. I never got around to sharing it on the blog as I have yet to paint it. I wish I could help you. Eagerly waiting to see your projects with those lovely colours. Love
